Found tree trunk, hand-carved, stained, Persian carpet transfer, 20x20 in, 2025 Carved from a fallen Banff tree trunk, this sculpture takes on the shape of a windblown dress. A Persian carpet transfer settles into the wood grain, blending the landscape of Alberta with the textures of the artist’s heritage. The bark acts like skin, carrying traces of memory, movement, and strength. The piece reflects the layered nature of belonging and the quiet conversation between two homelands.
